The Bugatti Veyron is the second fastest car in the world. It has an acceleration of reaching zero to sixty miles per hour in just 3 seconds. Such seemingly impossible acceleration is possible due to the Veyron’s 1000 horse power engine. Top speed of this monster is 253 mph, making it the second fastest car in the world following the SSC Ultimate Aero.
The Veyron from the famous Bugatti Company is presently among the most expensive cars in the world, costing an estimated $2,000,000. Reason of the price is obviously the car’s super powerful engine and the automated computer controlled features of the car.
Unlike many other super speed cars, Bugatti uses a completely automated interface that handles everything related to the control of the car. Other top fast cars use low tech bodies, with nothing fancy or computer controlled. They focus mainly on the aerodynamic structure of the car. They make the car low tech so that maximum weight could be taken off the car to allow it to reach higher speeds. The advantage of these kinds of speed cars is that they can reach a higher speed on straight paths, but when it comes to cornering and grip, they fail badly. The Bugatti Veyron is a completely different story. This car is totally automated and the manufacturers didn’t want to make the car light. Instead they just put in a much powerful engine. The Veyron’s traction, tire pressure, shock absorber adjustment, aerodynamic structure and fuel injection are all controlled by a super fast computer. That’s why the car does extremely well on straight paths as well as on sharp turns, making it the fastest “track” car in the world.
